Citywide Mission to be held this November

AE has been asked by the church leadership in Monrovia, Liberia to help them reach out with the love of Jesus Christ to the citizens of their city. Preparatory training programs have already begun. Seminars have started to equip and unite local church leaders for this major citywide mission. Churches and their congregations are working together to present a united front, with one goal in mind - spread the Word, save lives. If you would like to join this mission please contact our office. We are now in phase two of this mission.

A Mission’s Financial Phases...

1. Initial invitation (Office work and traveling expenses)

2. Preliminary set-up (Deposits-venues & hotels, ordering material, leadership training, traveling expenses, etc.)

3. Final payments due and miscellaneous expenses paid

AE’s Evangelism Ministries

Each year AE is engaged in multiple small and large-scale evangelistic mission events across the continent. These missions range from two week large-scale events in capital cities to 1-3 day missions in rural areas. Each mission has four key elements:

Partnership

Like no other ministry in Africa we are committed to seeing the whole church working together to promote the gospel. We seek to unite both churches and other Christian agencies in outreach. This process is as important as the evangelism itself.

Ghana - Prostitution Rehabilitation

Equipping and enabling

AE is an itinerant ministry but we are not a “hit and run” ministry. We will work with local christian churches in a city for a period of up to 3 years prior to a major mission. In that time our goal is to mobilize, train, and equip the churches to unite and to reach their own contexts with the gospel.

Uganda - AIDS Awareness Training

Evangelism

We not only train and equip for evangelism, we do it! Our aim in any mission is to reach every strata of society with the gospel. In our major missions we will have up to 100 meetings a day in factories, businesses, schools, parliament, marketplaces, prisons and hospitals. We don't expect people to come to us, we take the gospel to where people are. New converts are then channeled into the churches for follow up and discipleship.

South Africa - Hospital & Disabilities Ministry

Funding

unfortunately this is an essential part of reaching people for Christ in Africa. Most missions require; transportation, some housing, meals, mission venue (in major missions), audio equipment, and follow-up materials. The bigger the mission the more preliminary work needs to be done with planning and coordinating.

A message from Stephen Lungu

Dear Precious Partners in the Gospel:

In the midst of all that is happening in Africa, we have this blessed assurance of the Lord's presence in our midst as well. The bloodshed in Kenya, Somalia, Congo, Chad and many other countries in Africa, makes us just stand and look at our Saviour Jesus Christ who is the Hope of Glory, the Hope of the world.

On the other hand, when other parts of Africa seem to bring despair and hopelessness, at least one can look at Burundi where the sun is beginning to shine. After several years of toiling and agonizing before the Lord for Burundi, Emmanuel Kopwe and David Mkone can now rejoice for the great achievement there. Each time Emmanuel went to Burundi in those early years, he did not know whether he was going to return home to Tanzania alive or not. The sound of bullets was part of life. Reconciliation efforts among the Church leaders, military and government officials and the rebel soldiers has brought the nation of Burundi to where it is now.

This last December at the Burundi Leadership Encounter I so enjoyed sitting and listening to former rival groups - laughing and eating together. There is relative peace now. People can walk until late in the night which they never used to do before. We thank God that as AE ministers during 2008 one of our main missions will be in the City of Bujumbura. Thousands of people died during the insurgence over many years ! Now this is our time to go into Bujumbura and snatch many souls for the Kingdom of God. As opportunities for the gospel in Africa come only once or twice, we want to grab this one.

Bujumbura mission is scheduled for August 10-17, 2008. If there is ever a time we desperately need your prayers and financial support it’s now. As you may know, Burundi is almost a sister country with Rwanda. They have a similar culture and speak the same language. Which makes these two countries very interesting.

Please, please if you can kindly slot into your diary the country of Burundi it will be really great. Please stand with us in your prayers and also financially so that we may be able to transform lives and bring real and lasting reconciliation in Burundi.

May the Lord richly bless you as you stand with us in this year once again. May I thank you for being part of the Great Commission - the Lord's passion for lost souls.

Yours for the Extension of His Kingdom
