Mission to Monrovia, Liberia
Executive Summary:
AE under the leadership of Stephen Lungu has
responded to a Macedonian call from
Monrovia, the Capital City of Liberia's
Church leaders to assist them with
evangelistic programs. After extensive consultation
and planning with key leaders AE has
embarked on a comprehensive program
of proclamation of the Gospel and reconciliation & discipleship
programs in partnership with the local
churches.
Description:
Working alongside many Churches, AE is
training & equipping hundreds of
Pastors and laity to evangelize and
disciple this important city.
Need/Opportunity Addressed:
Church leaders know that they are losing
members and have failed to reach
out to the lost. Evil abounds resulting
in increased societal problems,
unemployment HIV/AIDS, political conflicts
and poverty are massive issued
that demand their attention. Spiritual
renewal and creating a passion again
for the lost is uppermost in their plans
as they seek to reach out in
partnership with AE with effective programs
of evangelism, discipleship and
reconciliation.
Those who will benefit:
The local Church who will be encouraged
and challenged to reach out to every
sector in their city, especially Government,
business, the unemployed, the
unchurched and those bent on crime for
a living
Key results/outcomes:
A change of lifestyle by those who make
commitments, renewed churches,
better trained and equipped lay leaders
and pastors, a greater motivation
for evangelism, reconciliation and discipleship.
Amount of money needed:
$155,000
Expected measurable outcomes (or ROI):
Trained and equipped pastors
and laity with spiritual counselling
and
discipling skills to care and nurture
thousands of new and renewed
believers.
Absolute needs to achieve success:
The full cooperation and support
of the local churches and Pastors in
committing themselves to a number of
regular training, discipling and
reconciliation workshops. The commitment
of our Evangelists and Team Leaders
to carrying out their tasks to the best
of the their abilities. The prayer
backing of friends and partners for the
safety and guidance of our teams and
the finance to carry out these objectives.
Time frame of the proposed activities:
From the 1 March 2008 to
the 30 November 2008
Other Comments and Information:
African Enterprise is aware that
the Church in Liberia will be unable
to
contribute much towards the costs of
this mission, hence this is a financial
step of faith by AE and an important
opportunity for donors to participate
in this worthy endeavor.
