Southern Sudan planning meeting

Rev. Mbogo traveled to Sudan for the planning meetings for the forthcoming Leadership Initiative meetings in Juba. During the visit he was able to meet with key leaders and pastors.

Foxfires 2007 1st Term Report

A team of 9 young people happily joined the Kenya Team in January 2007. Some of the topics they covered in orientation and training included guidance and counseling , some concepts in theology, evangelism and discipleship. During February and March the team concentrated their ministry on 13 different schools. Some of the topics they handled included sexuality, time management, relationships, HIV/ AIDS, peer pressure, drugs and drugs abuse, character formation, decision making, homosexuality and lesbianism and also other academic issues. The teachers in some of these schools have reported that the program has impacted their students positively. Out of 4,000 students reached during the term, 250 students received Jesus as their personal savior.

During April Foxfires were involved in 3 different missions in 3 different areas. The 1st mission was held in an estate in Nairobi city. The team reached 300 people and about 110 people received Jesus. The 2nd mission was on Mfangano Island in Lake Victoria. The team reached about 300 people here and 90 received Jesus. The 3rd mission was in a town about 150 km east of Nairobi. Here, the team reached 350 people and 132 people received Jesus. Challenges in this mission included language barriers and witchcraft strongholds.

Breakfast meeting at Nairobi International School of Theology

On 2nd March, we held a breakfast meeting for the Clergy and Directors of various organizations and Ministries to launch the calendar of events 2007. We raised Kshs 117,000. One of the exciting things we did was to take them through an AE-Kenya power point presentation.

Athi River Mission Planning Meeting

During March, Rev. John Skikuku, Joseph Mulinge and Helen De Zilwa met with the Kitengela Pastors Fellowship to plan for the Athi River Mission from 6th to 16th September 2007. Various meetings will be taking place monthly.

Eastern Southern Cross Cultural Mission

From the 21st April to 1st May, AE Kenya carried out a mission in Soweto in South Africa. This mission involved 33 pastors from Kenya who were on a cross cultural exchange program being hosted by Soweto pastors. The mission sought to bring a cross pollination of ideas and strategies of evangelism, discipleship and church growth. The pastors preached in buses, trains, police stations, churches, door to door evangelism, crusades, and in youth meetings. Many were healed and delivered from demons and diseases.
