Called to evangelize the cities of Africa in word and deed in partnership with the church, Michael Cassidy started an interdenominational, interracial, and international evangelistic team in 1961. Since its inception, AE has been serving the local church in Africa in the areas of evangelism, leadership development training, reconciliation, relief and community development. Recognizing the value of empowering Africa's leaders for social, political, and religious change, African Enterprise continues to be on the cutting edge of ministry with its indigenous teams based in 10 nations throughout Africa.

Michael believes in the divine inspiration of scripture, prayer, faithful stewardship and integrity of life. His mission: to unite people and the church to bring both spiritual and sociological understanding among groups and individuals. It is not surprising therefore, that because of his love for the entire church of Christ and all the nations of Africa Michael has integrated reconciliation deeply into the fabric of all he does. John Perkins has said "the ministry of reconciliation has been Michael's life. His courage as he stands up for his belief in the midst of opposition is a testimony to the power of God and the power of truth."

Over the years he has repeatedly called on leaders to exercise God's love in their respective communities and nations as he has spoken at the Pan-African Christian Leadership Assembly in 1976 and 1994, to British members of Parliament and Members of the House of Lords in 1992, a consultation of European leaders at Windsor Castle, England in 1993 at the United Nations 50th Anniversary dinner, and the World Shapers O96 Conference in Canada. Because of his ministry in racial reconciliation Cassidy was a guest speaker at Promise Keepers in 1996 and 1997, and Reconciliation O98 in Coventry, UK. He was also on the board of reference and played a prominent role in the Global Consultation on World Evangelism conference in 1997. In 2000 he addressed members of NATO and the European Parliament Commission. Currently he sits on the AD 2000 and Beyond International Coalition and is an international advisor for the Worldwide Leadership Council.
