ABOUT US : Antoine Rutayisire
Biography
When narrowly escaping the Rwandan genocide, Antoine felt the Lord had spared his life for some special assignment. God had begun to lay the foundation for Antoine's ministry years prior to the genocide. At age 5 he saw his father murdered for being a Tutsi and later his own life was also threatened because of racism.
In 1984, he felt deeply challenged by Christ's call to "love your enemies." He was convicted to give up his "right to hate" and one by one forgave each of his enemies. Then he asked God for the power to bless his enemies. God used this and other life experiences to prepare Antoine to be the humble and anointed Christian leader he is today-full of compassion, empathy and love for his fellow man.
His ministry is extensive because the Lord has opened up many opportunities, including speaking and ministering to Rwandan Parliamentarians and prisoners on a regular basis. He is a very articulate and sought after speaker. Antoine has been the keynote speaker at World Vision on Reconciliation and has spoken twice at the Annual International Reconciliation Conferences hosted by Reconciliation New Works of Our World. Among other responsibilities he is Vice-Chairman of the Unity and Reconciliation Commission in Rwanda.
The Lord is using Antoine and the African Enterprise team to wonderfully bring healing, reconciliation, strength and renewal back to the disillusioned and devastated Rwandan church and nation.
"Join us in prayer," says Antoine. "That the Holy spirit will keep moving powerfully to bring healing, repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation to this country."
